Airports! Woo!

Hello!

So we made it from the Cleveland airport to the Philadelphia International Airport all safe and sound!

I always remember how much I love airports every time I get to be in one. There’s so much excitement and energy, and everything feels like a movie! Plus, I really don’t know why I don’t hang out at airports more often, because there are so many hot, bearded, traveler guys here! woah. skinny jeans everywhere.

Plus, I feel like people watching at airports is almost as fun as people watching at our local fair. Whenever I’m at the fair, I’m always thinking:

1. all of these people are 100% crazy.

2. there’s another person I went to high school with. don’t make eye contact.

3. I wonder what kind of drugs they inject into this food to make me keep buying it.

4. I’ve seen most of these outfits before on peopleofwalmart.com.

It’s kind of the same thing whenever I’m at an airport, except I’m usually thinking:

1. it would be so romantic if I met my husband here.

2. businessmen are so cute. I hope I marry one.

3. world travelers are so cute. I hope I marry one.

4. boys in skinny jeans are so cute. I hope I marry one.

But anyway, the flight here was really short! So we didn’t really do anything. Plus, they confiscated my backpack with my laptop (rude) so all I did was stare out the window/at people mostly. I was slightly creeped out because the guy in front of me was watching a movie with Channing Tatum and laughing hysterically the whole time. It was just a little concerning because he was definitely over the age of 40, and I think he was by himself…but hey. I’m not making judgements, just observations.

The guy to my left was working on a slideshow about Israel, which just reminded me how desperately I want to go there. Tel Aviv is a 3 hour flight from Florence…so….we’ll see. So I pretty much watched his slideshow the whole time and planned my future adventures there.

Right now, we’re just sitting at the airport, waiting to board our flight to Frankfurt, Germany! woohoo! That flight is 10 hours long, so I’m sure I’ll have lots of fun stories about the people around me by then.

This trip is so fun already, and we’re not even out of the U.S. yet! And I’ve already updated my blog twice….so….that’s a pretty big deal.

Stay tuned!

Love,
Lizzie XO

So, I think I’ll hop on a plane and go to Italy in a couple days.

Hey hey!

So here’s the thing…I’m leaving in 2 days…how crazy is that?!

I obviously did a really good job updating this blog over the summer…*pats self on back* But in my defense, this summer was really busy…extremely blessed, but not nearly exciting enough to blog about everyday. It was pretty much daily life. I worked as a sales associate at Kohl’s and tried to earn some extra money for my trip.¬†Sometimes, while I was bored folding shirts, I liked to pretend I was Selena Gomez in the movie Monte Carlo. Because I was saving for Europe, and it kept me motivated. ¬†I also interned with a communications company that owns a bunch of radio stations in Cleveland…so that was a lot of fun! I got to go to some stellar concerts (for free! woo! my favorite word), and meet some even more stellar people. So I mean, it was a pretty fantastic summer.

Anyway, I’m getting really excited, because I love everything about traveling. I remember always saying that I would love to travel to Europe someday, but I never actually thought I would be going there so soon! Now that we have almost everything packed, it’s so real! aahh! I still don’t think it will sink in that I’m spending an entire semester in Italy until my plane actually lands there though…that will be the weirdest/craziest feeling.

Packing was a pretty stressful experience, not going to lie, but we actually managed to figure it out. I only thought about stabbing someone with a fork….oh, let’s say, 5-7 times. just kidding. But we will fit everything into two suitcases, a carry on and a purse. It will happen! Mark my words.

I think by far my least favorite part about leaving though (even besides packing, which is slowly but surely becoming my arch nemesis) is saying goodbye to everyone. I literally have the best family and friends in the whole entire world. Nobody else’s even compare. I’ve always hated endings, which is what I associate saying goodbye with, but I think there’s also something really beautiful about goodbyes because you know they mean the beginning of something new and exciting! And when people miss you, it’s a huge reminder of how much you are loved and cared about!

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” -Annie

Basically, I really can’t wait to start this new adventure! I’m definitely looking forward to the next four months, and returning right at Christmastime will be perfect. Except for all the goodbyes….and the packing.

So…Prayers and letters are always welcome and more than appreciated!

Love you amici! (all three of you reading this blog)
